8th October 2015
Guests of Honour: Chris Murray, Director, Core Cities Group; Nick Capaldi, Chief Executive Officer,
Arts Council Wales and Dr Munira Mirza, Deputy Mayor for Education and Culture, Greater London Authority
This seminar will offer a timely opportunity to discuss priorities for supporting the arts and cultural sectors across the UK. Delegates will examine the roles of central, devolved and local governments, national development agencies, funding bodies and the private sector including media organisations. In the context of the cultural, social and economic value of the arts and culture to the UK, the agenda will bring out latest thinking on the way forward for public sector funding, as well as prospects for strengthening private revenue streams through cross‐sector partnerships, corporate sponsorship, digital innovation and philanthropy. Sessions will also consider best practice examples and strategies for widening and diversifying audiences in light of the Warwick Commission’s final report highlighting inequalities in access to the arts.
