The BBC have announced that Katherine Jenkins, the world-renowned classical singer, is to join the Songs Of Praise team as a main presenter.

Katherine’s first episode will broadcast on Sunday 23 July, where she will explore the Sussex seaside town of Hastings and hear inspiring and uplifting stories of faith in the area. Katherine will also meet volunteers from a local church, who are helping new mums by providing Moses baskets full of donations. A highlight of the programme will be Katherine’s performance of the classic hymn, Jerusalem.

Sean Fletcher who has also recently joined the programme as a presenter also features in this episode. Sean reports from Leicestershire about the renowned Christian choral singers, VOCES8, who are on a mission to get young men singing.
