Next steps for European media policy: the UK audiovisual industry and impact of AVMSD reform

As the European Commission announces a planned revision of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) by the middle of 2016 as part of their Digital Single Market Strategy, this seminar will offer delegates a timely opportunity to consider the commercial, regulatory and public policy challenges facing audiovisual media services in Europe and the priorities for a regulatory environment fit for the digital age.
Planned sessions examine developments within European media, telecoms and technology markets and consider the options for legislative reform to ensure fair competition, media pluralism, the independence of regulatory authorities and innovation in media technologies.
