BBC World Service broadcasts to the Eastern Mediterranean The BBC World Service English language radio broadcasts to the Eastern Mediterranean, including Israel, much of Lebanon, Cyprus and southern Turkey, will be available via satellite and on the internet only, to cater to audiences who are increasingly tuning in digitally. BBC Arabic releases new schedule BBC Arabic has a new radio schedule, and new programmes to be broadcast from Cairo and London to mark its 77th anniversary. Since the ‘Arab Spring’ of 2010, the service’s weekly audience has risen from 21.6 to 36.2 million – an increase of 68 per cent. More here.
